Deuteronomy 11:1-32

Refresher:
* God promises to make Abraham into a great nation.
* God brought Abraham’s descendants to Egypt.
* There they grew into a nation.
* Egyptians panicked and enslaved them for 400 years.
* Moses lead them out of slavery and into Canaan.
* Even after all those miracles, Israel chickened out.
* God gave them a 40-year timeout, wandering in the wilderness.
* The adults who disobeyed God passed away during this time.
* God brought the next generation to the edge of the Promised Land.
* They needed to hear God’s law declared again.
* Deuteronomy 11 is part of Moses’ second speech.

1) Milk, honey, the uniqueness of the land of Israel and good things for believers (vs 8-12)
2) Obedience from the heart (v1, 13, 22)
3) Rain, wine, oil, and the blessing of obedience (vs 13-15, 21-25)
4) Discipline, Dathan, Abiram, and the anger of God (vs 2-8, 17)
5) Phylacteries and frontlets and teaching our kids (vs 18-23)
* Read the Bible every day
* Memorize scripture
* Discuss the Bible with friends and family, in or out of church
* Lead family devotions
* Don’t just read the Bible, obey it from the heart
6) Idolatry and the deception of hearts (v 11, 16)
7) Mount Gerizim, Mount Ebel, a blessing, a curse, and the choice we must all make
