“What’s Your Superpower?”
Ephesians 4:13-16 1. Jesus is the head of the church, and we (Christians) are His body. (vs 15-16, v12, v7)
2. Every Christian is an individual part of the body of Christ, having a unique place and purpose and importance in the body. And we are all given at least one spiritual gift that is designed to be used to bless and build up the body of Christ. (v16, v7)
* Spiritual gifts are particular ways that we serve the church that the Holy Spirit empowers, so that when we use those gifts people are blessed and the church is built up.
3. The job of APESTs (Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Shepherds, Teachers) is to make everyone else better at using their gifts. (v11-12)
4. God wants the church to grow. (v12, v15, v16)
5. One of the major ways the church grows is by speaking the truth in love. (v16, v15)
